BEHEMOTH, SATYRICON AND ROTTING CHRIST – ungodly trio in the O2 universe
Behemoth, Satyricon and Rotting Christ in Prague’s O2 universum as part of The Unholy Trinity Tour 2025. It won’t get any more blasphemous.
There is no band in metal history more synonymous with unflinching defiance of expectations than BEHEMOTH. During their remarkable thirty-one year career, these Polish heretics, fronted by Adam Darski aka Nergal, are more than just the masterminds of their country’s legendary extreme metal scene.
Over their twelve albums, Nergal’s unique vision for BEHEMOTH has made them more than just a black metal band. Their distinctive image has remained, as has their dark and aggressive style that includes black and death metal. Nevertheless, the artistic vision of this trio from Gdańsk, since 1991, with each new record – now the twelfth “OPVS CONTRA NATVRAM” – is able to move closer to a larger audience, without BEHEMOTH losing its years-built expression.
The special guest of the evening will be SATYRICON. The Norwegian black metal stalwart, which was formed in 1991 in Oslo and almost immediately after the release of their first albums, became one of the leading bands of the flourishing Norwegian black metal scene due to their unique approach.
The main author of the songs, the singer Satyr, and his right-hand man, the drummer Frost, have embarked on a path of constant development and contempt for basic principles in their artistic approach. After perfecting the second wave of black metal with their early albums like Dark Medieval Times or The Shadowthrone, in 1996 they released the now cult and widely recognized album Nemesis Divina. And now they continue to forge their own, unique path to the hitherto unexpressed and penetrate into the dark spiritual depths of humanity of the 21st century.
The trio will be joined by ROTTING CHRIST. These architects of Greek black metal have been mixing historical atmosphere, mesmerizing choirs and neoclassical arrangements for 35 years. Now they present their 14th studio album “Pro Xristou”. Translated from Greek, it means “Before Christ” and is a fervent tribute to the last pagan kings who tenaciously resisted the Christian tide and protected ancient values and knowledge. “For Xristou” captures the essence of Rotting Christ’s characteristic style – a melodic symphony with moments of unyielding harshness.
