Filmphonic presents the return of the Harry Potter Concert Series, which continues with Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets™ in Concert
The series of film concerts Harry Potter™ in Concert returns to Prague with the second part – Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets™ in Concert. As early as March 8, 2025, viewers will be able to experience the magic of the film accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra of the Capital City of Prague FOK, playing the unforgettable music of John Williams under the baton of Ernst van Tiel. The film will be shown in high definition on a large, more than 16-meter screen with Czech dubbing and Czech subtitles.
“We are very much looking forward to bringing the continuation of Harry’s story back to Prague after the successful first year. The audience will once again have a unique evening, during which they will experience the connection of a 90-member symphony orchestra with the magical story of Harry and his friends, which will be projected on a large film screen. You won’t experience such an atmosphere either at home or in the cinema, which is why this concert is so unique. In addition, we are preparing a creative accompanying program for young and old, which we will present soon,” says the producer of the concert in the Czech Republic, Tibor Engler from FILMPHONIC. Thanks to the Czech dubbing, the tickets will be an ideal gift not only for adult fans who grew up with the film, but also for the youngest generation, who can enjoy the whole experience in a non-traditional version accompanied by a symphony orchestra.
Martin Rudovský, dramaturg of the Symphony Orchestra m. Prague FOK, stated: “It is symbolic that we are returning to our roots in the 90th season. But let’s say inversely, because in the 30s of the 20th century, many musicians found themselves “on the street”, because they were no longer needed live on the screen due to the advent of sound film. It was from them that the foundation of our FOK orchestra was created in 1934. Now, after 90 years, we are returning to this activity – with gentle nostalgia. And, of course, with joy, because Williams’ music for the film Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is a wonderful, juicy and virtuosic score.”
Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment and CineConcerts have teamed up to create the Harry Potter in Concert movie concert series, the only official tour celebrating the magic of the Harry Potter films. Since the world premiere of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in Concert in 2016, more than 3 million fans have enjoyed this magical Wizarding World experience, with more than 2,973 performances scheduled in more than 48 countries by 2025.
In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, cars fly, trees fight back, and at the start of Hogwarts’ second year, a mysterious house elf comes to warn Harry Potter. Adventure awaits him, but also danger. A bloody inscription on the wall announces: The Chamber of Secrets has been opened. Saving Hogwarts will require all of Harry, Ron and Hermione’s magical abilities, not to mention courage.
Grammy-nominated John Williams’ stunning score became an instant classic, conjuring up the beautiful and soaring motifs that accompany Harry Potter on his magical journey.
Justin Freer, president of CineConcerts and producer/conductor of the Harry Potter Film Concert Series, said, “The Harry Potter film series is one of those rare cultural phenomena that continues to bring joy to millions of fans around the world. We are very pleased to be able to provide audiences with the unique opportunity to hear award-winning music performed live by a symphony orchestra for the first time in history, as well as the opportunity to see a beloved film shown on the big screen. It will definitely be an unforgettable experience.”
CineConcerts’ Brady Beaubien, producer of the Harry Potter Film Concert Series, added: “Harry Potter is synonymous with excitement around the world and we believe that by presenting this incredible music alongside the entire film, audiences will enjoy returning to this magical world.”
