Rammstein singer Till Lindemann is heading to the O2 universum hall
LINDEMANN, take two: This November, the German-Swedish power duo will be releasing its second album, F & M, which will also be accompanied by a first-of-its-kind tour. Namesake and Rammstein singer Till Lindemann and multi-instrumentalist Peter Tägtgren – Official, the mastermind behind legendary Swedish metal bands like Pain and Hypocrisy, are responsible for the project. To support the release of their second album, LINDEMANN will be on tour in February 2020, visiting eight European countries.
Some four years after their highly successful joint debut album, Skills In Pills, which rose to the top of the German LP charts, the new album, F & M, is writing a surprisingly new chapter in the project. In the latest stage of their collaboration, the duo are embarking on some unusual and previously unexpected paths. Where Skills In Pills, which went gold in Germany, featured English-language lyrics, the pair are now unveiling lyrics in German, in a wonderfully playful rendition by Till Lindemann with his unmistakable voice and all the intensity listeners have come to expect.
The starting point for these new LINDEMANN songs was a collaboration between Till Lindemann and Hamburg’s Thalia Theater for a modern adaptation of the fairytale of Hansel and Gretel, which touches on themes of fear, hope, poverty, excess, cannibalism, and death. Five songs from this critically acclaimed play are supplemented by six new compositions to form the impressive new studio album from LINDEMANN.
The first single, “Steh auf” (“Get Up”), which dropped in mid-September, is a hard-charging anthem that immediately shot into the top ten in the German singles charts. The music video was directed by star director Zoran Bihac, who also made earlier videos for Rammstein and LINDEMANN. Filming took place in Kazakhstan, with one of the protagonists played by Tägtgren’s fellow Swede, the Hollywood star Peter Stormare (Fargo). But that is only a taste of the new cycle. Fans are already eagerly awaiting the release of F & M and then, in February, will get their chance to experience LINDEMANN live at 12 European concerts.
