Sleep Token, a rising star shrouded in mystery, returns to the Czech Republic! They will perform at the O2 universum
After last year’s very successful domestic concert premiere at the Rock for People festival and a month later a sold-out solo concert in Prague’s ARCHA+ (formerly Archa Theatre), the Sleep Token phenomenon returns to the Czech Republic. They will play their biggest Czech concert to date on November 15 in Prague’s O2 universum as part of the Rock for People Concerts concert series. Enigmatic UK band Sleep Token combine post-rock, post-classical and post-metal elements with soulful indie pop vocals into a mix that sounds like nothing else. In 2019 they released their innovative debut album “Sundowning” and two years later they achieved mainstream success with the UK chart topper “This Place Will Become Your Tomb”. In 2023, the anonymous masked collective presented their third full-length effort “Take Me Back to Eden”. The album quickly became an international success, breaking into the upper reaches of the charts in several countries.
The tracks “Chokehold”, “The Summoning”, “Aqua Regia”, “Granite” and “Vore” amassed over 85 million streams combined, while standout single “The Summoning” generated approximately 38.8 million streams on Twitter alone, causing that track trended on Twitter and topped a number of international Spotify viral charts. She has also been selected as a “YouTube Trending Artist On The Rise” featured on YouTube’s homepage, watched by millions every day. At the same time, pop star Demi Lovato, for example, is sharing Sleep Token music with her 153 million followers on Instagram. In short, Sleep Token is constantly breaking the boundaries that they refused to admit in the first place.
And although Sleep Token doesn’t talk to journalists as a matter of principle (out of necessity, not because of ego), the media can’t help themselves, they write about this phenomenon and inform about every step of the band. NME magazine notes: “Sleep Token offer their fans a whole world to immerse themselves in if they so desire. It’s a place of escape and the basis of a huge fan community dedicated to studying the band’s work. While they have the same fervor as any other fan base, there is one notable difference.” Elsewhere, Metal Hammer magazine named them “The Most Exciting Metal Band Today” and Revolver magazine awarded them both ‘Artist Of’ and ‘Album Of’ 2023 .
