The unique show The Universe of John Williams for the first time in the Czech Republic
Spectacular show The Universe of John Williams performed by The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra with guest conductor Pete Harrison pays tribute to the most famous composer of film music of all time. The music written in the heart of every film fan will come to life with narrative projections, interviews with Williams himself, as well as a spectacular light show already on December 7 in Prague’s O2 universum.
The audience can look forward to immortal songs from the films Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Harry Potter or E.T.; the title tunes for the film Jaws and Indiana Jones will also be present. Many will also be surprised by the official anthem of the Olympic Games, which John Williams composed for the winter sports festival in Salt Lake City. Chills will run down your spine while listening to the theme song for the film Schindler’s List, and the fairy-tale melody from the film Home Alone will conjure up the atmosphere of Advent. In short, even fans of Superman or the war drama Saving Private Ryan will not come.
Pete Harrison is a renowned guest conductor with many UK and international ensembles and the music of John Williams is both his specialty and his passion. At the same time, Pete is also an energetic presenter, and during the show he conveys to the audience many interesting facts about the circumstances and inspiration that led the author to the creation of cult works. The experience will be enhanced by the comments of John Williams himself, who will speak to the audience from the screen.
“Together with the conductor Pete Harrison, we managed to prepare a unique show that will enchant and move the audience. It is not only about video projections, but also about the inspirations and circumstances under which John Williams composed his legendary music. This is a completely new concept of a concert show. And because movies like Star Wars, Harry Potter or Indiana Jones are really spectacular, we added an extra spectacular light show. With the traditionally excellent The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, a large choir will also perform, which will enhance the experience even more,” Květa Havelková from the JVS production team describes the preparation of the concert.
