Velká muzikálová show will offer a celebration of 25 years of the musical Grease in our country at the O2 universe.
The big musical show will offer a celebration of 25 years of the musical Grease in our country on February 8, 2025 in the O2 universum. Hits from Saturday Night Fever, Dirty Dancing and other musicals will also be performed. Come and see the successful artists who shone twenty-five years ago in the first domestic performance of the famous American musical Grease.
Michaela Badinková, Roman Vojtek, Daniela Šinkorová, Bohuš Matuš and many other great and talented faces of the Czech show business will perform accompanied by the live orchestra Pink Cadilac on February 8, 2025 in the O2 universum.
Dirty Dancing, Saturday Night Fever, Rebelové, Mamma Mia!, Grease, Phantom of the Opera. Songs from these and other popular musicals will be performed in Czech and performed live by the biggest stars of the first performance of Grease in the Czech Republic. They undoubtedly include Roman Vojtek, Zbyněk Fric, Daniela Šinkorová, Michaela Badinková, Šárka Marková, Kateřina Nováková, Bohuš Matuš, Martin France, Hynek Svrček, Martin Hrdinka or Jan Urban. The unique performance is being prepared to celebrate the quarter century since the musical Grease was launched in Czechia. The premiere took place on February 14, 2000, when almost 400,000 spectators visited the production.
For those who want to reminisce about this period, a unique experience is in store that will never be repeated. The live orchestra Pink Cadilac will play under the baton of Dalibor Kapras. Linda Stránská will prepare the choreography, Roman Vojtek will direct the entire show.
The script was written by Martin Hrdinka. It is about the legendary presenter of Radio Evropa 2, Czech Radio and Czech Television (Hitparada, 0106, Anděl Awards). Already in 1992, he presented Karel Gott’s Christmas tour with Helena Vondráčková and Josef Suk – at that time they were the brightest stars of our country. Martin Hrdinka is also the co-author of the musicals Dirty Dancing, Jack the Ripper, Don Juan and the ballet Má vlast.
“The big musical show is an opportunity to show where all the actors of the musical have moved in a quarter of a century and what they have achieved in their field. As a non-actor, I actually got to Grease by accident and got to know the musical environment. I knew the musical well and I really enjoyed the role of Vince Fontaine. Now I will see everyone with whom we rehearsed for a long time and waited for the premiere. Back then, almost everyone was unknown, and today they are stars,” adds Martin Hrdinka.
How are other actors looking forward to performing in the Great Musical Show? Roman Vojtek says: “I look forward to our Grease show like Danny to his comb, Sandy to summer love, Rizzo to drama, Frenchy to a new haircut and the whole T-Birds to the next school barbecue.”
Šárka Marková adds: “Pomade is dear to my heart and not only because it was my first leading role. Until Děti ráje, it was the only musical of my career in which I played, which had a positive plot. In addition, I really enjoyed it from the beginning, because I played 103 performances in a row for three months a day without alternation. A bunch of people met there, with whom we still perform today and are still friends. I’m really looking forward to the others that I haven’t seen in a long time. Although I see a lot of them, at least on TV or in movies, where they’ve been shining ever since.”
Daniela Šinkorová is also looking forward to performing in the show: “We are a good group, we always have been, and we will continue to be. For 25 years, our lives have been intertwined here and there. We watch each other, know about each other and keep our fingers crossed. At that time, we created a really magical group that was “splashing” with positive energy,” she adds.
The unique opportunity to see all the mentioned personalities of our music scene on one stage will not be repeated. Great hits performed by them will be complemented by a rich audiovisual show in the O2 universum.
