The One Conference Wins the 2024 Inspiration of the Year Award. Innovative use of tram transportation impressed both the expert jury and attendees from around the world

The prestigious Inspiration of the Year 2024 award was presented to The One Conference at the 14th annual Ambassador Awards Evening, held at the Residence of the Mayor of Prague. The event was organized by the Prague Convention Bureau, which annually honors outstanding individuals and events that contribute to the development of Prague’s meetings industry.

The One Conference stood out not only for its scale – with more than 2,200 attendees from around the world, including children of various ages – but also for its innovative and environmentally friendly logistics. The six-day event was designed as a family-oriented conference, where adults followed a professional program while children participated in age-appropriate activities.

Liasions, in collaboration with local partner Senator Meetings & Incentives, implemented a unique solution for transporting attendees between their hotels and the venue – via Prague’s iconic tram system. In cooperation with the Prague Public Transit Company (DPP), trams branded with the event’s visual identity were deployed at 15-minute intervalsthroughout the conference, transporting participants smoothly between selected hotels and the O2 universum venue. All accommodation was chosen with proximity to tram stops in mind.

These dedicated trams stopped only at predetermined stations, where dispatchers from DPP ensured smooth boarding and monitored timing to avoid delays on regular lines. The result was an efficient, punctual, and eco-friendly transport solution, with multiple benefits for the organizers, the city, and the participants.

The unconventional use of Prague’s extensive tram network was a memorable experience for many attendees, especially for the children. The creative solution was highly appreciated and contributed to the decision of the client to return to Prague in summer 2025.
